Clothing emotions with words

Words do not come to me when writing poetry. Likewise, images do not just reveal themselves. Rather, my process of creating art begins with a certain opening in me – an opening that allows me to enter a moment of inspiration. There, in the divine space, emotions flow, and my task is to clothe them with words.

Photography is like a hide-and-seek game, where I am tasked with finding the hidden beauty in nature. This is why I use a macro lens with my camera, capturing photos of nature in close-up, revealing the shapes and colours that we do not normally see.

Later, the editing process on the computer begins, where I combine the photos with the poems. This step is more analytical and measured, balancing the shapes of letters and images through graphic design concepts.

Poems and images are from the book ‘In God’s Garden’ by Gil Dekel.
